My first birth photographed was almost 7 years ago. My neighbor/doula/bff begged me to step out of my box and photograph her home birth. "People do that?!" was my reaction.
I had no expectations for what would happen that early morning, and no words can explain the rush of emotion and connection in the room. Tears were streaming down my face as I frantically pressed the shutter button not wanting to miss a moment, and I've been chasing that high ever since. There's no doubt I have the coolest job ever.
Nowadays I'm doubling down on that feeling by training to be a birth doula advocating for kindness and safe, supportive connections in the local birth community.
I have had 2 of my own births, 1 hospital 1 birth center, so I feel extremely comfortable being thrown into any birth space.
You found your way here because you get the sense that this birth is going to be one of those biggest (like, crazy big) and most incredible experiences of your life. Laughter, smiles, tears, strength... you and your partner are going to live through it all! As the details fade away, you will come back to your photos and the story will feel as fresh as the moment it happened.

Will I meet you before my birth?
Yep! Besides our initial meet-each-other connection, there will be a third trimester pow-wow to chat all things birth photography and intentions.
Where do you document births?
I have documented in the home, birth centers, and hospitals, I am open to births in the forest, side of the road, your farm, the car, about anywhere a baby could be born, invite me there!
When should I book my birth with you?
The sooner the better. I limit the number of guess dates I take per month. If you know that I am the photographer for you, it is best to secure your spot as early as possible.
How does payment work?
There is a $500 deposit due at booking to save your guess date in my calendar, then the possibilities are flexible. Would you like a payment plan? We can set one up. Add birth funds to your gift registry? That's an option!
When will you arrive to my birth?
As your photographer, I will arrive during active labor. If I am also your doula then I arrive at the onset of active labor, or whenever you feel ready for me to join you.
What if I go into labor in the middle of the night?
Babies can't tell time, they come when they want to. I am on - call for you 24/7 from 38 weeks on, and that includes turning my ringer up to an obnoxious level and being ready to go at a moment's notice, no matter what time of day it is.
Is it okay if I swear during?
HELL YEAH. You do you. Curse, scream, growl, laugh hysterically, I am here for it all.
Will you share my birth photos?
The birth photos you've seen on my website and social media are there because that family granted love and permission. Everybody has their own level of privacy, and I respect the hell out of that. I have shared graphic images, more PG type, and there some birth stories that I haven't shared at all. It is all about what you are comfortable with.
